Why Maintain Your AC System?

Bi-annual Preventative Maintenance will ensure that your system runs as efficiently as possible. All major manufacturers of heating and cooling equipment stipulate that their warranties are only good if a preventative maintanence plan is in place. As part of your Ideal Energy Preventative Maintenance plan, our certified technicians will perform the following tasks, depending on the type of unit you have:

Outdoor Unit Inspection

  • Inspect unit for proper refrigerant level
  • Inspect base pan for restricted drain openings
  • Inspect coil and cabinet
  • Inspect fan motor and fan blades for wear and damage-on older models lubricate as needed
  • Inspect control box, associated controls/accessories, wiring and connections
  • Inspect compressor and associated tubing
  • Run and test system

Indoor Unit Inspection

  • Inspect blower assembly (includes blower housing, blower wheel and motor)
  • Check combustion blower housing for lint and debris
  • Inspect evaporator coil, drain pan and condensate drain lines
  • Inspect for gas leaks in gas furnaces
  • Inspect burner assembly-clean and adjust as needed
  • Inspect ignition system and safety controls-clean and adjust as needed
  • Inspect heat exchanger or heating elements
  • Inspect flue system---check for proper attachment to the furnace, any dislocated sections, and for signs of corrosion
  • Inspect control box, associated controls, wiring and connections
  • Clean or replace air filters
  • Thermostat operation and accuracy
  • Temperature split
  • Check superheat and subcool
  • Run and test system
