Reasons to Remove Attic Insulation:
If your home has insulation that has been damaged by water (think roof leaks or AC drain pan overflow), fire or even rodents - it's best the insulation is removed before installing new product over the top.
Insulation has a resistance to heat rating, which is what the industry refers to as R-value. When insulation is compressed, wet, burned, etc., it loses is effective R-value, thus making your insulation less efficient.
If your attic has rodents or other critters living up there, this can cause great damage to the insulation and can even result in a urine smell to leak into your home. If this sounds like your home, give us a call at 480-839-0082 for an estimate to help get you on the way to a fresher home!
